Widespread use of text (SMS) and multimedia (MMS) messaging has made it an attractive method for brands and
media
companies to market to and interact with consumers. Companies that want to market or interact with consumers
via text
messaging can set up short codes which serve as addresses to and from which text messages can be sent and
received.
Verizon Wireless Premium Messaging platform allows content providers to provide VzW Subscribers with access
to Premium
Content such as
- Alerts, Jokes, Ringtones, Wallpaper, etc.
- Content delivered via SMS and MMS
- Vzw and non-VzW Branded campaigns.
Subscriber Accesses Content via SMS Common Short Code or via Web Store
- SMS is addressed to a 5 or 6 Digit Short Code and texts in Keyword of Desired Content within the SMS
body.
- Content is available via approved web store fronts.
Verizon Wireless has authorized a small number of third party companies, Interactive Messaging Aggregators,
to act as
single integration points to Verizon Wireless in support of interactive messaging services. Please refer to

- Interactive Television – MO traffic driven by ‘live-response’ television
promotions
(other ‘live’ mediums include iRadio, chat, voting, contests,
text 2 screen, in venue)
- Mobile Marketing – MO traffic driven by ‘direct-response’ visual marketing
messages
present in the real world (i.e., stadium events,
billboards, product labeling).
- Premium Content – MT traffic perceived as valuable content (i.e., Severe Weather
alert).
- Mobile Advertising – MT messages with ads, coupons and brand communication requested by
the user.
- Online Photo Portal – MO traffic driven by users uploading pictures, text, sound, and
videos to
online photo portals
- Blogs / Distribution Lists (Blast / Share) – MO traffic driven by users uploading
pictures, text,
sound, and videos to online blogs which in turn
broadcast uploads to users who subscribe to these
lists for
immediate view instead having to visit a website to view uploaded user
generated content.
